How to enjoy our birthdays as we grow older

As we grow older birthdays may just be another day in our lives. We do not celebrate it as when we were children.  For you to enjoy your birthday as you grow older means shifting our focus onto big social expectations, for personal comfort, and intentional celebration.

Birthdays shift it's meaning as we age. We should use our older birthday celebration as reflecting on our past lives, how we use to celebrate, and and looking into reimaging as we age. Aging is not a curse it is a privilege some do not accept.

Birthdays to seniors can mean prompting emotions of we are not getting any younger, it also can give us an insight of what we matter to our families as we grow, we maybe a idol or someone our younger family members look up to.

Here are ways to shift your mindset to enjoy your birthday:

Treat a birthday as a checkpoint: Instead of counting dow  how much longer you may live, see the day as a quiet reflection, go back to the things you did on birthdays as a child, see the accomplishments you made and reflect on how you mean to others.

Keep the birthday normal:  most do not want big lavish parties ( although they maybe fun to imagine) have a quiet borthday with family and friends.

Focus on gratitude gatherings:  nstead of gifts as those coming to celebrate to bring a story of something that means something of the birthday person. talk about what the birthday goer means to them.
