Can I really?

If you haven't, it's never too late to start.
Whatever it is you are asking yourself, if you can dream it, think it then you can believe in it and try it. Many of those in their 50's think they are too old to do or try new things. On the contrary, this is the perfect time for you to start and try new things or to make any change.
What is that you are asking yourself, wondering whether you really can do it?

Nice thoughts Beyond, Thx for sharing
What is that you are asking yourself, wondering whether you really can do it?
i dont know swimming and i want to be a swimmer good enough to swim in an ocean
@BeyondTheInvisible, I wonder if I can ever successfully live on my own again.
@purpleTree4652
Hello purpleTree4652,
sounds like a big step and your will to achieve can help the process.
Are there pros and cons you are pondering?
Wish you well
@BeyondTheInvisible, Right now, living on my own is out of the question. Recently, my sister and brother in law invited me to live with them. In exchange for cheap rent, I help them, as they both have serious health problems. So, there is no point in even pondering pros and cons, as I plan to keep living with them for some years, at least.
@purpleTree4652
Hello to you.
Is there something else you see that you would do in your current situation? Anything that may make your days better?
@BeyondTheInvisible, Thanks for asking. All I can think of continuing to do is keep up with my daily checklist. The checklists purpose is to improve my mental health. It ranges from exercising to meditating to studying french to crafts to talking to someone to going to church to much more. It's a long list. I don't do everything every day, but I shoot for things from each category. I can't think of anything else. Do you have any suggestions?
@purpleTree4652
Hi!
Well it seems like you have many interests, sounds good and well planned.
I don't have any specific tip but to enjoy what you do and to be 'in the moment' with it.
Take care
@purpleTree4652
I love your action plan check list. It's a great place to start. I love studying French, too.

What is that you are asking yourself, wondering whether you really can do it?
I think I always ask myself whether I can be sucessfull in life. Sometimes i think about mu actions and it scares me about my future. I think i can do it but i need to change myself a little.
@BeyondTheInvisible
i am doing pretty good but could work on these areas :
do more listening virtual and actual...
travel with greater gusto once pandemic scare is over...
indulge in my passion..photography more seriously...
concentrate on healthy living with more discipline .

@RideaRainbow
Hello @RideaRainbow!
Well, there are some interesting things to look at.
Keep on going!
@RideaRainbow
How do you intend to live a healthier lifestyle? Have any changes in mind?
I've been thinking of changing careers. I'm tired of the stress that comes with being in healthcare. But at the same time I love what I do. Does that make sense? I think maybe an adult class could help. Maybe?
Went back to school at 45 to switch job paths (because my old job was driving me nuts). I've had a lot personal life hurdles (chronic illness and death of father, suicide of mother in law, sudden death of a childhood friend, two major surgeries (one of which was an emergency), and an ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression) during my schooling and will finally graduate at age 50. I figured 25 years was a long time to keep working at something that I hated. I like my new career a lot more and it keeps me busy. I help other people and I make more money. I don't intend to retire until 75.

Hello there!
I'm really amazed to read how strong you have been to face all life's difficulties while you have been also able to take some important steps to improve your life for better.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the new job
What usually helps you facing the low moments?
I hope you may enjoy your stay in 7 cups, it's nice to have you here in our community!
Sending you good vibes
@BeyondTheInvisible thanks for the kind words! Cheerleaders during my journey have been few!
Going back to college. I tried to several times and no success. I still have that passion in me
@Neeme2020. What happened when you attempted in the past? What were your courses of study? I'm full of questions today.
@courageousComfort1239 well I struggle with adhd and ptsd thus I was not able to grasp the lessons being taught . And I had to withdraw . Figged memory and unable to get myself to do my assignments were all part of the effects of trauma . I am seeing a professional for help however I feel going back to college seems so far fetched . I want to be a nurse . And the subjects I need to take are quite hard considering what I am going through
@Neeme2020 adhd can truly be the enemy of education.
I also want to learn a new language and I don't know where to start
@Neeme2020
That's interesting!
Do you plan to follow a specific course or to start with self-aducation, with it?
@BeyondTheInvisible I want to learn to speak and write Spanish . I don't mind self learning so I can do it at my own time . However I don't have any resources to guide me to find a free course to learn this language
@Neeme2020 smart phone app Duolingo might help. They have several languages to learn. All for free.
@courageousComfort1239 thank you. I shall look into the app
