50 & Changes

I turned 51 last year. I had to replace almost all my clothes with new ones. My size changed from XS or size 0 to M or size 4, from 90lbs to now almost 120lbs. I was in shock and felt depressed about it. Hormone could do that !

@BeeZeeOtter

That kind of change is a lot to process, and it makes complete sense that you’d feel shocked and even a little lost in your own body. Hormones can feel like they have a mind of their own, shifting things in ways we never expected, and it’s so frustrating when we don’t have control over it.

But I want you to know this: your body is not betraying you. It’s evolving, adapting, and doing its best to support you through each stage of life. I know that doesn’t necessarily make it easier to accept, especially when you’ve spent so long seeing yourself one way. But your worth, your beauty, your identity none of that is defined by a clothing tag or a number on a scale.

It’s okay to grieve the version of yourself that you were familiar with. And it’s also okay to give yourself grace as you figure out what it means to love this new version. You are still you still strong, still beautiful, still worthy. And no matter what, you deserve to feel at home in your own skin.

Be gentle with yourself. You are not alone in this.

120 lbs isn't a lot.. doesn't sound like obesity or overweight ... I don't think you should worry.

@BeeZeeOtter hormones don't work like that. They don't get your weight increased in just an year. Something tells me you need to visit a doctor soon and get your blood tests done
