Disappointment is a wave, that I can respond to in different ways.

I have a choice.

I can focus on what I can control,

instead of what I cannot control

Pessimists try to convince you the world sucks, optimists already know it does and smile anyway.

Disappointments are often attached to expectations. Once you eliminate expectations, disappointments ease down a bit. We just want to hope for the best. A failure should not be the value, but the value is the effort that was made. Disappointments can be devastating but once you start knowing your worth and the worth of those you are disappointed from, then life will look lighter. You do you and others will project. May you all never feel pain from disappointments.

@LadyInSilence I think it's normal for people to have expectations, and I also think that it is normal to be disappointed when those expectations don't get met. The important thing is not to dwell and to learn from the experience.
