Insecure about looking old

We sometimes become insecure about how our appearances are as we grow older; it is a common thing; we no longer look like we did growing up. This is an anxiety experience seen through social interactions, media, and fear of irrelevance.

We need to focus on self-care, which will make you feel good about yourself, shifting our minds on aging as a privilege and limiting our views from social media. Some people feel embarrassed about aging and not looking attractive to the opposite sex and are trying to work past these feelings.

Ways to manage insecurities:

Mindset shift: You need to view again as a privilege, not a setback. You should remind yourself of accomplishments you made at the age you are and praise yourself for being able to live your life to the best you can.

Self-Compassion: Be compassionate about who you are and what you have become in life. No one can live our lives; we must do that ourselves. We are all different and view things in life differently.

Focus on Functionality: Focus on how you look physically. You can keep working out to stay healthy and eat properly to keep your body strong and fit. 

Limit social media: You can keep off social media and what the trending things say and stay healthy. We can reduce our electronic times during the day and at night.

Healthy Habits: Keep a schedule of working out to keep strong, eat healthier than we used to do, and make sure we stay as healthy as possible.

Seek support: Seek the help of friends and loved ones to stay fit, maybe walking in the neighborhood together to exercise your muscles. If it is needed, see a family doctor and discuss how to stay healthy.
