The power of goal setting

Setting goals for ourselves is important. When we do we boost focus, perspective and motivation. When goal setting is done properly it will inspire, motivate and energize us whether it is for ourselves or when working on a team and have a particular task (deadline) to meet.

When we do not reach these goals, we see it as a failure. It will be unclear as to why we did not reach the goal we set up to do and if poorly timed the goal is not met meaning we did not do it in a timely manner. We sometimes write our goals then write what it is we are completing and what is needed to make the goal work.

Goal setting is an important technique, and we can have a major impact in our lives. We are given an assignment by our bosses, and we must work to get that assignment done properly otherwise we fail to succeed. Goal setting can be things in our personal life we want to get done for that day.

Setting clear goals means we are motivated, boost our confidence and help us face challenges we did not think of completing. Some examples are a long-term goal to graduate college with a degree. We need to be specific in what our outcome will be when reaching a goal. 

When we are looking to reach a goal, we are carefully coordinating ways to achieve that goal is set the way we want it. We sometimes may fail does not mean we are not good at the goal, it means something like a timeline, other things progressed, and we did not finish the task for the goal. 

We can revisit that goal we did not finish and prioritize how to successfully achieve finishing the goal. We explore what obstacles got in our way and fix how to redo the goal. When working on a project for work asking for support and encouragement will help us in seeing something we may be missing to complete it.

Sometimes we can shorten the goal so we can do one thing at a time with the goal and finish it in a bigger picture. We can accept the changes we made when working on the goal. Failure teaches us resilience. Visualizing the goal in a picture or in our mind can make us see the bigger picture in completing it.
