Self care is so important.

It is a necessary part of life so we can continue to do what is required such as looking after others, our obligations i.e. work, chores etc without our ‘battery’ 🪫getting too low.

Do you do regular self care daily or do you complete a crash course when your battery gets too low?? Which is preferred? What types of self care work for you? 💕💕💕

SunShine,

Thanks for posting this. My mind is technical, so it helps me to consider psychology in electrical analogy way.

I'm really good about charging my phone, every evening and I make sure it's not charged the whole night as overcharging is not healthy for battery either. So far, the analogy works well.

I'm also good about charging my tablet too. However, recently, it was been a malfunction and it got totally discharged despite sitting on charger overnight. Issue with the charging port I guess.

This made me think, we try to recharge ourselves, but it fails when there is an issue in us.

I have been kinda suspecting this, but it came to a sharp focus now (thanks to you thread, thanks again) that the malfunction is loss of passion in life.

Dead end career, coasting to retirement, dead end relationship, few limited friendships, parental skill not needed anymore, lost interest in hobbies, isolation from family.

Coming back to the electric analogy, if you discharge some types of batteries too much, they'll refuse to take the charge in.

How, do you find lost passion? Some people are passionate about politics, religion, or activism. It's not me. I'm good about romantic passions LOL, but a nono in a monogamous relationship I'm in.

If I find a way to recharge myself, I'll keep you posted.

@LostTurtle2

Thank you for sharing. 😎

Yes we look after devices and keep them in tip top shape we know how to do it and it is regular rhythm. Daily effort to keep our devices active.

For each of us our life issues need time to sort and figure out the way to manage our lives and find that passion and find connection in life.

The future we never know what is ahead, Connection comes from communication and shared experiences. It takes daily effort much like the batteries that take charging …

Have no fear people can ALWAYS recharge and it is endless the amount and types to try.

Sending you positive vibes across the miles hope as you get closer to retirement you find opportunities to find passion & connection …

  2. Yes, I loved the cartoon about batteries going too low. When I come home from work, I usually like to sit in my recliner and watch old movies, old musicals or an occasional newer movie, like Shrek and Toy Story. I also have several DVD sets of older shows like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, *** Van *** Show, Mr. Ed, The Lucy Show. I don't have to worry about sex jokes, nudity and cussing.
