Mental health awareness month

This month is where we acknowledge may for Mental Health Awareness. 

Mental Health Awareness is ackowledged from May 1st to May 31 st the color of the ribbon is green where it is meant for reducing stigma, increase understanding and promoting support for those who suffer from this illness. The ribbon is meant for new life, hope and growth. 

Mental Health Awareness was first noticed in 1949 it was to have acknowledge for those who were Veterans in World War II. Since then we have worked on those suffering from this illness. It is okay to not be okay and those who have this should seek help. 

Mental Health is crucial for overall well-being.it enables us to cope with stress, work effecttively to getting better and contribute back into society. 

There are 5 D's of Mental Health:

1. deviaton

2. duration 

3. distress

4. dysfunction 

5. danger 

The following are 5 ways to improve Mental Health 

1. connect with others: ask for support from family and friends

2. Physically active: be more active in this to regain your life back

3. Learn new things: take a hobby or self care of what your suffering in and work to achieve a better life for yourself.

4. Practice Mindfulness: by practicing mindfulness you can be more calmer in your life. 

5. Giving back to others: by giving back to others who are suffering can also make you feel better for being there for others who may not have and need support.

in 2025, 59.3 million people are suffering from some form of Mental Health. ( 46% are Americans ).
