Bicycling with my husband along the Loire river in France. Tiny stone homes, castles with floral trails and clusters of swans enjoying the sun. Its so awesome to rent a bike when visiting new places!

When I was a kid I guess that I lived on the beginging of a street that went up

like in a hill. You would have to drive done to exit the street, anyways I used to

ride my bike really fast done the hill. I used to also ride bikes with the kids that

lived around me, and we used to ride bikes around the block.

In my earlish twenties I did a century ride. There was a steep hill about half way through the course. I'm, ahem, rather large framed and a lousy climber. But I trained hard and diligently for that ride. At the base of the hill I got out of the saddle and soared to the top. I felt like Eddy Merckx on the Alpe d'Huez.

Do you know the history of Bicycle Day? https://bicycleday.la/what-is-bicycle-day

When I was a teen in the country, we were messing around on a little-used road, and a driver of a jeep came through and yelled at us for being in his way. A couple days later I ran into him at McKay's Market and he apologized and said he'd been having a bad day and he had snapped at us. I remember being impressed to see an adult own his own feelings and acknowledge that he was inperfect.
