@SoulfullyAButterfly according to the picture we could sponsor square dances. smiley

But seriously if we know anyone that works in hospital or nursing home we could reach out to them and show a little appreciation and gratitude.

@soulsings

I think you need to look up square dancing since that is now how I square dance. LOL

@DanaMH okay maybe that is country line dancing. But it is definitely out of character for a hospital. Never saw them doing that in the hospital smiley

@soulsings That's true. The picture reminded me of how nurses do so much to keep cheerful.

I think this should probably be titled "How do we help anyone that works in the medical field." Writing thank you cards after a visit, an in-person thank-you and even asking if they would like a hug is great. Some of the members of my medical team like hugs (always good to ask). I'm also thinking of a friend here on 7 Cups that has challenges every day with lack of staff, trying hours and fearful patients. I thank her for her work through posts.

@Zengrl That is quite true, thank you. All people on the medical field deserve to be appreciated. I understand that they all face many challenges and yet despite that, continue servicing and so that deserves our applause.

@SoulfullyAButterfly i spent many days in hospitals as I have cancer. Like everything in life there is bad and good. I loved their dedication and caring like for their own children but there are mean ones too. One of them told me: "I have no God so I'll show you", she pessed the syringe very fast so it will hurt me, i knew what she did, i took the pain and did not report her. Her own actions will someday punish her...and she was not the only one...snoring nurses on the corridor, smoking nurses, corrupt nurses, gossiping nurses...as I said it's life, there are true good nurses and there are bad ones...I am thankful for the ones who really cared for me...

@SakoombaKero Im not a nurse but I am very sorry for what you went through. My experience has been totally different from yours. I hope you get the care ( with empathy) that you need.

@SakoombaKero Thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry that you had to deal with having negative caretakers as well. I really like how you mention that there is good and bad, as it is very true. I too underwent chemotherapy and I agree that the very caring nurses can help turn around a very scary or bad day.
