Your top 3 lessons from life so far
What are your top 3 lessons from life so far , what did they teach you ? 😊
@Optimisticempath
Make sure you never say something you can't take back
You only live life once
If you want to do it go for it (as long as it is not a crime)
@Optimisticempath
1) Live by the Golden Rule (do on to others as you want done to you)
2) it's not what you say it's how you say it
3) actions speak louder than words
1) Nothing has given me more joy, success, growth, understanding, and love than the effort I put into my relationship with God and serving God.
2) It can be a cruel world, I can return kindness. Even if my only available response is mindful, present silence.
2 continued) Suffering is mandatory. Fulfillment is optional in suffering. Higher purpose makes pain worthwhile. I am free to choose, and peaceful acceptance of the results of that choice is internally easier than resisting the undesirable results. Sometimes the outer worlds apart from me, reflects my inner world.
3) What you say is more often what you need to hear than what I need to hear.
4) Ask questions. Animals don't ask questions. There is more to existence than eating, sleeping, defending, and procreating.
- Everything is temporary..."this, too, will pass." Remember that no bad time you're in will last forever. Your suffering will end some way, somehow. By the same token, no good time lasts forever either. Thus it pays to not get too attached to current pleasures.
- Most people's lives have a purpose, but not everyone knows what his/her purpose is. No one can tell you what your life's purpose is because they aren't you...you must figure it out on your own. You will know when you've found your purpose; no one else will have to tell you. Once you have found it, don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
- There are many things in this world to fool people, & remember that no matter how smart you may be, there is always someone out there who can (& probably will try) pull the wool over your eyes.
1) Learn true and complete acceptance, of yourself and others. Including opinions, lifestyle choices, basically of everyone and accept that everyone is different from you. Don’t just tolerate…..Accept…
2) Try not to judge everyone and everything. If you feel the need to judge them try and understand as many aspects of a situation and the person and/or people before judging it or them. Just because you don’t agree or like what’s going on doesn’t make you or them any more correct. Acceptance is a better path than its rival Tolerance.
3) If you’re struggling with anything pulling you down, keeping you from enjoying the experiences of life.Pursue and ask for help. It can take a long time for that help to actually reach a point where you can feel a change, but stay focused and stay on the path to get better. Keep reaching out … even when you think you’re not struggling, life is too short to live hiding behind the walls built to shield yourself from the world. Come out from behind the walls and accept help to guide you back into a comfortable place and try and get the most out of life’s journey. The ups and downs will always be there, but how you handle them matters, How you handle them helps shape who you are, you can reshape your core but that is a very difficult thing to experience. So , just remember to reach out and continue to reach out throughout your entire life. I believe you will be better off for it.
These are all things that I have just learned myself. I am in my fifties and if I would’ve accepted and practiced these things when I was a child……maybe I would be in a better place now. I can only hope others are doing these things and more so they can be in a better place mentally.
