Without all five of these, you can't be a moving living creature. No one can define who they are by picking one element. Proportions might be different. but no one can choose one.
Water because it can come in all three forms; gaseous, liquid and solid. I identify with the multifaceted functions of this compound.

Earth...
Because I was born with good soil that made me stay rooted through out a horrible childhood.
Somehow I was able to protect myself and grow into the person I am today...flawed for sure, but with the ability to love, care, have compassion and feel happy. Religious types might say that a god might have had something to do with it. But even in that, our free will demands that we make the decisions for our own lives. Not even our higher power can do that for us. I can say honestly that the prayers I prayed to my 'higher power' were answered. Strength and endurance embed and flowed through out my life in different degrees, but ultimately I had enough of both to pull through.
