New Teen Mentors -Oct 25

Hi there amazing teen community! I have some wonderful news to share with all of you...we have some new teen mentors! Yay! Below you will get a chance to know a little more about them and I hope you will help me in giving them a warm and fluffy welcome teen style!

Our New Teen Mentors are:

@Lyra - You may remember Lyra as the amazing teen forum star, well our lovely star has turned 18 but this is no impediment for her to continue being her awesome presence in the teen community!

1- Who are you?

I'm Lyra, I love cheese, hugs and helping people, and it would be an honour to assist you in any way that I can. I've been kicking about the place for the best part of a year, so I've seen a few changes, but that means I know where (*most) things are, so come put my bookmarks folder to the test. (Please do, I'm very proud of it)

2- What do you help with or want to help with?

The forums are my most favourite place on 7 Cups, but if you want a hand with a chat, you want some guidance or you're confused about something, here I am. If you're looking to get more involved in the forums, but don't even know where to start, I'm your gal.

3-Why did you want to become a teen mentor?

Who wouldn't want to be a teen mentor? The teen side always has cookies! In all seriousness though, my love for baked goods aside, I know how scary it is to be a new listener, and all the added pressures that come with being a teen listener, so my PMs are always open for hugs, support and terrible jokes.

@7degrees - Sam is an outstanding positive energy! They are always excited for new challenges and always greet feedback in a positive and calm light.

1- Who are you?

Hey I'm 7degrees and you can just call me Sam! I'm a student in university (or college; whichever you guys call it) and I live in a small island country located in South East Asia; which is Singapore (GMT+8)! I'm the new teen mentor and I'm very excited about this role! You are more than welcome to reach out to me if you have any questions regarding 7 Cups or anything else!

2- What do you help with or want to help with?

I am a teen chatroom mentor so I support the teen stars with their work in making the teen listener chatroom a better place for everyone! I'm also a peer support, so if you had a hard chat, feel free to connect with me! :) Otherwise, you can just talk to me about anything under the Sun and I would love to get to know you better! :)

3-Why did you want to become a teen mentor?

Firstly, I'm still young at heart and I feel that I'm able to support the teen community as I'm not too far off the teens age range (if you don't believe you can find out for yourself!) and I'm very impressed by the amount of effort teens put to really listen and help one another out. Lastly, I hope we can all have fun and learn from one another along the way! Having fun is part of self-care too!

@Dillion - Dillion is a sweet, optimistic and caring listener! They are always looking to learn new things and trying alternative ways to support others.

1. Who Are you?

I am @Dillion and I absolutely love fishing, and spending time with Friends, Family, Mentees, and teaching management skill workshops pro-bono at the local community college.

2. What do you help with or want to help with?

As stated above, I teach management skill workshops at the local community college. On 7 Cups, I mentor anyone who wants to be mentored and provide general guidance to anyone that PMs me for help.

My goals at 7 cups are to become a Mentor Leader one day and channel my focus to quality as my career with 7 cups evolves.

3. Why did I want to become a teen mentor?

I was a teen once, having that role model there for me would really have benefitted me in my career. Knowing I can provide that support, makes me feel like I am making a major contribution to teens.

@Alicattt - Alicattt is a discussion master! She has organized amazing events for LGBTQ+ and is a lovely human and super willing to work hard.

1) Who Am I?

My name is Ali, I am 18, and attending college. I'm an owner of four (yes, 4!) pugs, but love all animals which inspired me to be a veterinarian. I also have an interest for the human species though, which is what brought me to 7Cups! I love meeting and talking with new people, so feel free to message me anytime, about anything (or nothing) at all!

2) What do you help with or want to help with?

One of my main focuses is special events planning! Bringing awareness to these days and finding ways to make them inclusive and fun for everyone is something very important to me. Other than special events, I'm working on a variety of projects, but always willing to help out with anything wherever I can! Be it something small, or something large, if you need anything, I'll be there to help you out :)

3) Why did you want to become a teen mentor?

Well firstly, the teens are AWESOME, right? But also, I'd like to be able to offer my experiences and any knowledge I have to the teen community. I may be an "oldie," but I still got that young, teen flair!

@Anggi -Anggi is the amazing leader behind the Adult-teen buddy program for the last few weeks. Shes passionate about working making 7 cups better and doesn't hesitate to tackle challenges as if it was a cake eating challenge!

1. Who are you?

My name is Anggi and I am a full time student. I just recently became a teen mentor. So, I am really excited to be more involved in our lovely teen community. In my spare time, I enjoy being on 7 Cups, reading, listening to music, and going to the movies. Please feel free to message me anytime, if you have any 7 Cups related or other type of questions. I am always happy to help! :D

2. What do you help with or want to help with?

I am a teen chatroom and group support quality mentor. So, if you need someone to talk to after a tough chat and to answer any questions you might have about listening or moderating in group support rooms; I can come to the rescue!

3. Why did you want to become a teen mentor?

I only discovered 7 Cups a couple of months ago and I keep wishing that it had existed during my teenage years as it would have helped me a lot! I wanted to be a teen mentor because I am amazed by how incredibly supportive and wonderful our teen community is and I would like to offer my support.
