A Leader’s Guide to Supporting the 7 Cups Community

Being a leader on 7cups means stepping into a role that is equal parts guide, role model, and protector of the community's values. It is not just about having a title. It is about embodying the spirit of support, empathy, and responsibility that makes 7cups a safe space for mental health and connection.

Here is what leadership on 7cups looks like --

Some core responsibilities are leading by example (your behavior sets the tone. Leaders are expected to be respectful, inclusive, and supportive in every interaction), Uphold community values (you agree to align with 7cups' mission and values, helping foster a safe, welcoming environment), Maintain confidentiality (leaders may have access to sensitive information and are trusted to use it responsibly).

Leaders are required to show emotional intelligence and boundaries. Leaders need to be able to accept feedback gracefully, take constructive criticism with humility. Leaders should maintain emotional boundaries to avoid dependency and burnout. Also, leaders are expected to promote direct communication and discourage gossip or indirect conflict resolution.

Leaders help with community engagement. Leaders can help organize events - awareness campaigns, fun holidays, and mental health events to keep the community active and engaged. Leaders check in regularly with their team and the subcommunity to help build trust and cohesion. Leaders are a friendly face, approachable, so members feel safe reaching out to them.

Leaders have accountability and integrity. Leaders are the eyes of the community and are expected to report issues and guide others on how to do so. Leaders respect the platform boundaries - no offsite contact is allowed to preserve the safety and integrity of the space.

In short, being a leader on 7cups means showing up with heart, consistency, and deep commitment to the well-being of others.
