The Goals Game - Guidelines. (The How's and Why's)
The Goals Game
Spirit of the Game: We all have different thresholds and levels of
hardships, trials and tribulations, and illnesses, along with blessings,
abilities and advantages. This game is designed to adjust to your personal
situation while allowing you to be just as successful as anyone else in the
point system. It requires Honesty, Self-evaluation and Productive Exercises of personal
importance. Scoring Points Throughout the Day is Really Fun!
Object of the Game: To score as many points as possible up to 100 points. To earn bonus points up to an additional 50 points. Minimum Point Value is 5 points.
How does it work? Remember, A game of Honesty and
Self Evaluation. You have to set your own points for your own goals. A small
accomplishment to you may be a huge accomplishment for me. There are a lot of
things to consider here. Mostly it is about you. You know your own strengths
and weaknesses so you set your own points at the start of your day a review
them at the end of your day.
(Example)
I may not have the energy to wash my dishes everyday and after several days
my kitchen is a mess and it always makes me feel bad. (If I can get my dishes
done every day, I may give myself 100 points just for that because that was my Goal
Game for the day and I did it!)
It may be easy for you to do your dishes so you only give
yourself 5 points because it’s not such a challenge for you.
Scoring:
When you are done with your day, you total your completion points and your
partial completions points together. That is your score. Convert them to a %
and that is your success rate for the day. (Example 80 points = 80%)
Guidelines:
Guideline A: Evaluate unfinished goals honestly to collect deserved points.
Only completed goals get the entire point value you assigned to it at the start
of the game.
Guideline B: There is no subtracting points for chores/goals not done or met.
Guideline C: If a task/goal was harder and longer but you finished it anyway,
you can add what you think are fair bonus points at the end of the day. Up to
50 additional points. (Sometime we give more than 100% to get a job done, i.e. (“I
gave 110% today”)
LET'S GET STARTED!
Step 1) List all your specific little goals for one day.
Step 2) Attach a Point limit (5-100) to each goal.
The more effort you think it will take, the more points you should give
it.
Step 3) YOU only task goals accordingly to equal 100 points for the day.
Step 4) Plan your Game for the day.
Step 5) Ready, Set Go… Start your tasks and chores for the goals of the day.
Step 6) When your day is done ADD UP all the points you earned for completed goals.
Scoring Example: It Is per Individual. Example: All I think I can do is Make bed, Make Breakfast, wash dishes and Pay One Bill
(Make bed -easy for me +20% points)
(Make breakfast-easy for me +20% points)
(Wash dishes- medium for me +30% points)
(Pay Bill-medium for me +30% points)
YOU DID THEM ALL…. 100 % for the day! Good Job.
The Advantages and Benefits of this game is if you use it on a daily basis and are always getting 100 points, that’s great but you might want to add a bit more to your day to challenge yourself. The same thing applies to always getting less than 100 points or consistently low scores, perhaps you’re putting too much on your plate very day.
