15% of those taking part said they have not encountered any service they found to be beneficial/supportive when coping with their PTSD

Day Centres, Respite Care, and email based support received no votes. In addition to the questions regarding what professional services people had found most benefical and supportive when it came to managing and coping with their PTSD several participants stated nothing could beat the support of family and friends.

Post-traumatic stress disorder is a distressing and debilatating condition. Recovery from PTSD is a long-term goal rather than something that can be achieved immediately. Effective support is one of the most effective tools available when it comes to treating and managing PTSD. This support can come from family and friends or from other professional services, whether they be from therapists, counsellors, mental health services, GP's or helpline and voluntary services. Having a strong network of support is important when it comes to coping with PTSD and the more support you can put in place for yourself the better supported you will feel. Some services may be beneficial to you, whilst others suffering with PTSD may find another service is far more suited for their needs. Everyone is different and unique and as such so too the available support and treatment options.

Our next Poll/Question will be posted in a few days, so keep your eyes peeled for this if you wish to take part in our next question.
