I want to get rid of the dependence on drugs that comes with my addiction. I wish for myself to be an independent person. An independent, healthy and happy person.

I think my motivation is to have a more healthy well rounded life. Rather than indulging in my addictions to social media and other stimuli, I'm working to be more present in the world around me to enjoy it and savor it.

My main motivation to recover now is because I hurt someone I care about and lost a good friend. The realization of that made me determined to become a better person, even if practically doing that will be difficult. I'm not there yet, but at least I know I'm striving and going in the right direction.

I want to do this for me. When I drink, I get angry, when I get angry, I fight. I say things I shouldn't and hurt the people I love. I'd like to be the kind of person someone else could be proud of.

What has motivated me has been the desire to not be a slave to something that is creating problems for my health and my life.
