Addiction and Life.
Hello hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. I’m here today writing about how addiction can affect one’s life. We all know that addiction is not something we would do out of purpose, addiction just grows on us when we want more.
In the beginning, we all might love something, we might love the taste, the adrenaline, the success, the fame, the money, the attention, the pleasure, the rush, the heightening of senses, etc. And there’s nothing wrong with that but as and as we are left wanting more and more of it, that’s where it all starts going down the road. Everything should be taken under a limit, once you go par and break all the limits, it makes you hungry for it, it makes you want more, it makes you lose your control and makes you desperate and greedy for it.
Everything in life comes with a consequence and you have to accept it, but the more you want and take, the more consequences you are left to deal with. Addiction is not easy. We all might be addicted to something in our life at some point and it’s normal but breaking ourselves from that is very important. We can’t let something overpower us and let it become our weakness.
Once an addiction to anything, alcohol, drugs, it could be anything, takes hold, it becomes the priority in a person’s life. If you were addicted to substances, you might see yourself spending more time and money acquiring them and this means slowly you would spend less time on the activities you used to enjoy.
You might even stay away from your family events, family and friends, and cancel all your planned plans made with them just to get drunk or high. It would get so difficult to keep up with your regular schedule while also keeping up with your addiction fed; the time you will require to recover from being drunk or high.
The addiction will also likely take a toll on your work or school life. Your attendance and work performance may suffer since your full attention will not be on your employment duties or studies.
Alcohol and drug use to the point of intoxication puts you at increased risk of injury, both at home and on the job. You are also at increased risk of being involved in a car accident, which could lead to serious injuries to yourself or others.
I hope that all of us who are dealing with any kind of addiction break out of it and do well in our lives and not let our lives slip away through our fingers. Thank you for reading this article.
The 'high' feeling from what any of us choose it to be is a good feeling. We want more of it.
Exactly... I'm addicted to porn... Mine is a bit different..... It's an on and off type... When I'm at home...alone or feel like I have privacy...i continuously watch it... But when I am at hstl or feel like I don't have privacy...i dont watch it...for no. of days ...and i feel nothing... But now a days even aty hstl my mind is triggering me to watch it....and i watched also...but now I'm controlling my self....a normal porn is not satisfying at all for me now ..I'm wanting more and more...i feel so guilty....it's getting filled in my mind... So whatever I'm seeing or listening... I can't stop to think about it... I'm feeling disgusted about myself.... I understood that for me the only key to avoid it is... To keep my self engaged.... With loved ones , work, hobbies etc...I'm exposed to porn at age less than 17..... I didn't know why that happened but....when I learned about nymphomania and reasons behind it .. i slowly got glimpses of my childhood when I'm around 4 i think ... I was sexually used by some person...and due to that at age of 8 i involved in sexual activities with one of my friends who is a boy... ... And i now understood the reason behind my sexual drive and addiction to porn..... I want to work on my self on my own and get out of this....on my own.... I know the reasons,i know some diversions, i just need some help to get out of it properly and end it forever..
