I don't want this to become a problem but I don't know how to make it stop
Hi,
I'm a little nervous posting here. I'm not sure it counts as addiction or abuse yet, but I'm so afraid I'm heading that way with my usage and what I'm using isn't even "that bad" to most people because it's legal, I'm old enough, and I live in Colorado (enough said). I struggle with myself because I used to be really good at only using it a couple of times per week, only when I had all responsibilities taken care of, but sometimes when life gets rough instead of one edible a week I eat several (sometimes per day) just to get moment to moment. In the past I've always been able to bounce back to not feeling like I need the high to survive, and so I'm hoping, assuming I'll get back to being able to moderately, but I'm scared I won't be that lucky. I've never felt this dependent on a substance (not even prescribed medication) and it kind of scares me. Is this how addiction starts? I tell myself if I don't stray away from this I'll be fine, but it's such a controversial subject.
I’m not an expert, but I’d recommend talking to a close trusted friend or family member or talking to your doctor about quitting, they can coach you though it at your pace and will be there for you.
@beautifuldisasterx0 Yeah, drugs aren’t really all that great for us, even the legal kind, and from what I’ve briefly heard the legal stuff is a lot more potent than it used to be normally, and by design so you are likely to become dependent. Even if I’m wrong about that, I was kind of in your shoes and thought about quitting but didn’t really put much effort into it, and in hindsight I wish I would have listened to myself. I thank that little voice in my head would have been worth listening to. Can’t prove it, did not land in jail, grow a third arm, etc., but I think I would have just been better with all the life choices that followed. Best of luck.
