Quitting smoking
I really want and need to quit smoking cigarettes. Does anyone know of anything that would help besides gum or patches?
@Nico33
Besides the gum and patches; there are also lozenges, inhalators and mouth and nasal sprays that exist too. Some people also use e-cigarettes to help them quit smoking. There are also medications that are sometimes prescribed to help people to stop smoking for example: Champix (varenicline) or Zyban (bupropion).
If you're in the UK, I know your G.P. can refer you to a stop smoking service as well. I'm not sure about in other countries though.

@Nico33 -
First I want to commend you. Knowing your need and bringing that into a *want* to stop smoking - this is very important! Good job. Acknowledging the problem and looking for a way to fix it ... these are wonderful steps!
Second, I am in the USA. I know there is a quit smoking phone line here in my state (they even show commercials on tv). I'm not sure where you live, but I would be willing to help you find something or some people! to help you. Do you have any support in this decision already, like from your family or close friends? They could also be there to assist when you need help - aside from the gum or patches. Sure they have nothing to do with the nicotine addiction (I'm guessing here), but they may be able to help in other ways.
I am proud of you for searching out assistance through 7cups. Good job! ~ Platy
