Social media Addiction
Hello! I'm 14 year old, a teenager.
I will spend all my time in on Instagram and didn't even touched school books for 2-3 months.
Now I'm very much interested in studying and trying to disconnect from instagram but I can't
If anyone has any suggestions for this plz pin your answers...
Thanks!
A teenager

Hi, welcome to 7 Cups. 😊 I found a couple links that have some tips for reducing social media use.
https://www.bustle.com/life/144893-7-ways-to-stop-your-social-media-addiction
https://www.insider.com/how-to-break-social-media-addiction
I skimmed through and some of the things that were mentioned include:
- Turning off notifications
- Setting some time limits for yourself
- Finding new hobbies you can turn to instead
- Just having periods of a few days where you go on a "cleanse" or try to stop using social media
- Deleting the icon just so it isn't as visible/automatic
@lexoscope What Magic said is absolutely true! You could also set a schedule where you have fixed times you're allowed to be on social media and allocate more time for studying. By gradually decreasing your time spent on social media per day or per week, you're subconsciously decreasing your reliance on it and 'cleansing' yourself from the addiction! I also find that having someone you could talk to and support you through this process is incredibly important, which is why I'm offering to be there for you <3 Feel free to PM me and we can work on the schedule together if you want and I'll be more than happy to help. Feel free to also shoot me with any questions you might have :) Good luck!
