Boyfriends addiction

I’m here because I’m kind of at a loss. I don’t know how to move forward from here. My boyfriend struggles with addiction: alcohol, and other substances. The thing is, he will take responsibility when he hits rock-bottom, by going to rehab or making lots of promises but after three months he goes right back. I understand that relapse is a part of recovery, but he won’t even admit when he relapsed and he starts huge fights with me and he blames me for accusing him. I know when he’s under the influence. I’m not crazy and I’m completely sober so I can tell.

He’s currently on a work trip and I know he was drinking at the bar because I have his location. The thing is he completely lied to me about it. I feel really uncomfortable. I don’t know how to proceed. He agreed to go to therapy. What should I do right now?

You are not alone because my husband also became addicted to alchohol and even almost getting addicted to smoking. Whenever he was instoxicated i became scared because thats when he begins to portray some kinda weird behaviour which always got me mad.

But later i found an ebook online which was making reference to how to get rid of drug addiction and i bought one for him. Thats what brought him back to his senses and we lived peacefully again. Since then he was always nice to me because he has gained his conciousness.

I know your situation i a very painful one because i have been through it before. If you wanna grab the same book for him let me know

@brightSail1608

people will do "rehab" or try to quit but it is an act for you.  they keep drinking or whatever and lie to us even when caught. Mine would lie all while I was holding the empty I found.  It is insulting they think they are so clever or we are so gullible that we will believe it.

Any addiction to break completely they need to want it for themselves. It is the only way it sticks.  I told mine trust is earned and you have zero in your trust account.  It took many more years then I would like to admit for my person to become sober.

I wish I had been stronger about it because now later in life the damage addiction caused becomes health issues. we cannot go back in time so partner not only ruined things years ago we are still paying the price of their selfishness

Hello. Trust you're doing great today. I completely understand how you feel towards your boyfriend. Your willingness to help him is commendable too. Addiction is not so easy to quit but there's hope. You can begin with helping him sign up with a therapist while engaging him with his hobbies. You'll both be fine in the end. Best wishes ❤️🤗
