Due to panic attacks, I have been easing it with alcohol at work, I work alone in my own room but when I was going home my colleague said: "oh I think I smell some alcohol from somewhere hmm.."
I think I am likely caught and I am drowing in guilt and anxiety... my life seems to be over.. I am really struggling mentally.

I know it is an addiction and hard to control but with the issues you are struggling with is losing your income going to help or hurt?
some workplaces I have been in have an option to get treatment before they fire you. NOT at all work situations need to know your employer's policy
the key was to ASK before they had a chance to decide to lay you off etc
