Maladaptive daydreaming
I am really done with maladaptive daydreaming it's Ruining my life I have been doing this habit for 9 years(putting the headphone on and start walking in circles and making fake scenarios which will never ever happen) I don't know how to get rid of it I swear it has affected my mental health... I am timid lonely introverted person with a weak personality I wanna heal
Also it tricks my brain into thinking that I am in love with someone or craves connection just because am lonly am an addict and literally I tried so hard to get rid of it but I couldn't 😭

@optimisticHouse863 Please check out my book on my own personal experience with Maladaptive Daydreaming, which afflicted my life for many years and the central thing that impelled me to continually go back to it. I describe in it the method of construction and the richly detailed “reality” of daydreams, the circumstances that often triggered them, how daydreaming actually lessened my feelings for other people, and the reason for my daydreams’ “unparalleled” thrill, and why it does not last, leading to my creation of brand-new daydreams. I felt it fitting to carefully describe my own personal experience with Maladaptive Daydreaming in the form of a novel with aspects of fantasy, since it was fantasy what I spent so much of my life immersed in, and through the experience of a fictional character, who is in so many ways different from me, but shares my own experience and journey out of Maladaptive Daydreaming.
It is available on Amazon! A Breathtaking Life Lived in Daydreams: A Novel About Daydreaming

Idk if it's kinda late to answer, but I'll say this (sorry if my advice is bad lel) I also tend to daydream a lot, really, and is pretty similar to what you have, as I also put my headphones and start walking in circles with some scenarios, that I know won't happen but I will still do as is my form of getting entertained and also because I want to escape. The thing is, as a fellow daydreamer I wish you the best and let you know that you're not alone in the process, it won't dissappear suddenly and it will take a lot of work. Craving for connection isn't bad as I think everyone deserves some human connection. I really wish you the best and will encourage you to get the help you really need. Again, it's not easy, but I sincerely wish you the best :3
Hello there :)
I understand where you are coming from. I too am an introvert. Being an introvert is not bad! What I do say is go to a store, a restaurant, anywhere wheres there a crowd of people. Trust your gut in who you would like to compliment and make convo:)! This has helped me a lot . A compliment never hurts and think of it this way, the worse thing that can happen is that they ignore you which is fine. Try lil steps :)! I would say with the headphones listen to some EDM and DANCE! FEEL THE BEAT! Artists I reccomend are Skrillex, Knife Party. Zedd, Martin GARRIX! Dancing is a great feeling and just feel the beat ! :)
I suffere from same thing + masturbation addiction but is not our subject.
Me too I have same pattern as you I put music and start imagining things it been years since I've started for me I never saw it as problem but as iam growing now I see how it's holding me back from actually doing things and living
