@Jenna

Thanks for your post. I guess part of the healing process is also to summarise the current state one is in. So I thankfully thank you invitation and write a few sentences here.

Since I was a kid, I spent much time before the computer. If I had emotions difficult to digest, I went to play games. If there was a fight, I fled to the PC. This changed on marginally once we got online, connected to the internet. Now not only games, but other content was available. Media, social games, 18+ rated things. I was very shy, did not trust people so all my social interactions happened over the internet. Friends, relationship. And this lasted for many years.

Now I have my own family, which somehow worked out even though I can sometimes still be shy and awkward. There is much less time at my hand and more meaningful activities to spend it on. Still, whenever I am bored, stressed I resort to the computer. To internet, browsing. It just takes so much time away and I feel tired afterwards.

So even though I thought when getting married that I could defeat this addiction, it seems to have crawled back in through the cellar back-window and now the things I do against it is to have schedules: meet with people to work out, go out to meet other families, engage myself in small groups, be with my family. If I am alone, my mind loses the fight somehow. So it has to be bound by other activities.
