For the first time, I am admitting my addiction. In my journey to treat my addiction, understand its causes, and deal with how shameful and sad it makes me feel, I decided to admit my powerlessness over it. I want to confess that my addiction is to masturbation and porn. I also want to note that I am a girl, so this issue isn't talked about much and feels unnaturally shameful.

When trying to figure out the reasons for my addiction and how to treat it, I learned that one of the steps to recovery is knowing that a person cannot recover from addiction alone. You have to open up about your feelings to someone like you, someone who understands, and so on.

Since outwardly my personality is just a good, smart girl trying to be better, who is cheerful, always laughing, and trying to get closer to God, it's impossible for me to confide in anyone from my family or friends about a topic like this. I don't want the way they look at me to change.

Because of that, I decided to try to recover, focus on myself, and rid myself of this burden. The problem has also gotten worse for me lately because of tension and stress.

And that's all. I just wanted to share so I could find someone who understands me."

Being a man, I don't think I'd be a suitable person that you could open up to freely, so I really hope you do find someone.

However, seeing as you have had no replies, I just wanted to say, after all the failures and repentance and failures and repentance, no doubt the self-hatred, this can be overcome.

God be with you.

Ik admitting it is not that easy and this sort of addiction takes time but if you want with the right approach, time, guidance, and patience everything can turn out to be fine
