I’m highly addicted to pot. I’ve been smoking pot for the last four years every single day nonstop. I really do think that it’s taken a toll in my life, but I feel like I cannot live without it every single day I feel like I’m barely crawling along and it’s the only thing I have to look forward to. It just feels like an escape and I don’t know what to do.

@lostsole22 hello sole, sorry to hear you're addicted to pot. It can feel very conflicting to us, when pot feels like our only escape, but we know that simultaneously it's dragging us down. My question to you is, do you know whether you want to stop using it? Or, if you're already beyond that stage and know that you want to stop, what have you tried so far in terms of quitting? if the latter is the case, but you haven't tried any quitting strategies yet I've linked to the self help guide on alcohol and drugs, which gives more guidance. Wishing you the best whatever you decide regarding this, sole - the community is here for you.

I’m addicted to weed too right now, I’m trying to quit. I have felt the exact same way as you. I used to use it so much my tolerance just got destroyed and I kept having to use more and more. I want you to know it gets better, I’ve been trying to quit for about a month and it has been getting easier and easier, when I first started I had crazy insomnia, couldn’t eat anything, probably had one meal a day, and I could only go like 4 days without it. Now, When I relapse the urges come back really strong for the first day or two and then they tone down, I’ve been sober for the past week and a half, honestly that mentally of not being able to quit is just trying to keep you under that fake happiness. Something that’s really helped me is thinking about the terrible withdrawals and urges, and focusing on the fact the drug is the cause of those problems, not the solution. I know nothing about you, but if I asked you if you were happy before you started, and you probably weren’t, but you were fine with it, now you are fine with the addiction but your unhappy without it. That’s a way you can visualize how it’s negatively affecting you. I honestly just want to help, I’ve never given advice before but this line of thought has helped me so I hope it can help you. I believe you can quit, and you might think you can’t but just keep trying I promise you’ll thank yourself
