WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS
Addiction is a disease not a crime, a compulsive behavior not an usual choosen decision. There is no place for our willpower to recover from addicitin, but it is only by believing that a greater power will aid us to recover. At least, with no power used from us, we seek the aid and ask for help. We should respect our weaknesses, know our strengths, and Let the greater power fix our weaknesses. By this connection, WE RECOVER.

I'm in having a lot of trouble putting faith in my higher power ever since my mom a few years ago. I know I need that connection because I cannot do it myself, but I just don't really have faith in anything so I need to I guess take a leap of faith and put it in God's hands and see what happens.
I agree with you though, it's a disease and we are not criminals. We have a problem with our wiring and shouldn't be treated like we've done something wrong. We all want to live our best lives and be happy and joyful but this damn disease keeps making it hard for us.
I know it is hard even we know the knowledge 😭
But I believe in god that one day we will win and be best version of ourselves and live a happy life. I hope best for we all 😭♥️
