Hey all,

I find myself wasting insurmountable time on my vices to find a small window of regulated state to get some kind of work done. I've tried exercising, having a large social life, and planning but they all fall apart due to dysregulation and unresolved trauma. I've fallen back ever since on vices such as putting myself in dangerous situations, porn, drugs, video games, and they are the only things that can reach deep down to ease the pressure and discomfort. anyone else relate? why are all the most unhealthy things most gratifying and able to unpack deeply searee emotions? anyone find a quicker and more effecient way to regulate? any thoughts and stories are greatly appreciated

@HumanHummus

The unhealthy things feel good because they illicit pleasure.

They allow us to hide.

They allow us to be able to put off feeling what we need to.

But they are temporary

In the end they leave us feeling guilty.

Its important to find longer and healthier ways of regulating, a therapist might help with this and talking, getting to the root core of why you feel like this. Genuinely wishing you the best 💕💜
