behavioural addiction
I used to have maladaptive daydreaming about stuff I’m not comfortable admitting yet. Then school help me get over it. Then I started social media addiction. I deactivated my social. Then started reading… the thing I rode about was sex. Yes, SEX. I started it then couldn’t stop, I couldn’t control myself. I also started to think about it excessively . Now I want to break free from it. That’s why I’m here admiting and holding my self accountable. That’s step forward till recovery! Furthermore, the next step is to have a support environment. I chosed this app. I feel more comfortable admiting this towards strengers than family.
In summary, I would say that I have behavioural addiction. It’s not just that… it’s the accumulation of stuff I been doing for years that is just not okey.
It takes 6-12 months to recovery. Well… today is day 1. We all start from somewhere, right? Rn I’m journaling and exercising self control. That’s a nice start.
I wish my self the best!

I admire your honesty.
And you are already on the path to change.
Because you are owning it.
And seeing the destructive impact it can have.
One day at a time.
Youve got this 💚

Best of luck for your journey.....but if you need someone to talk to about it just a message away!
Hiii, low-key relapsed but here we are trying to get better
Day #1. WHATEVER IT TAKES TILL RECOVERY
Day 2: Its hard but we iam not giving up
@mimmi0
Are you just reading stories or watching videos too. Porn is an awful addiction but I myself just did 6 months without. I know you can do it!
I've also enjoyed the stories too much in the past and even wrote alot of them myself. The addiction is not a joke.
Congrats for your 6 months without it!!
I rode wattpad because I wanted to be part of the reading world. But it wasn’t what i think it was. It’s really bad. The fact that minors are on that app……
I’m not going to open that app for a while. Read or see anything that tiggers me. If you want things to change you have to change. If you want a big change then you need to change big.
Day 3: i lowk even about this addiction lmao
Day 4: I’m not even having thoughts ab it, just go with my habits. I need to sleep better tho tbh
Day 5: okey today, finally other days I forgot to upload. Something bad happen so I had a thought. But instead I read about other people struggles and realise that improvement is being consistent. Consistent. I stop doing the exercise my listener told me to do but you know what? I should have done better because I really want better but my next move is better than my last mistake. Tomorrow will be better.
Tomorrow, tomorrow there’s always tomorrow 🎶🎶

I wish you the best too !! 💪✨️
@mimmi0
I’m sorry to hear that you have been going through all of this. I am proud of you for taking that first big step! Sending love and light your way 🥰💗
Day 6. ✅
@mimmi0
You’re almost at a whole week, congratulations!! You are strong and brave for going on this journey and you will be even stronger in the end for it!
I have been tracking my journey in the porn abstinence thread posted by northern lights and it is a great way to hold yourself accountable. Behavioral addictions, especially when it comes to sexual content, are really deeply rooted and really hard to communicate with people in your life about.
For me it helped to find hobbies that I really enjoy to take my mind to other places, but also understanding that urges are natural and you can be conscious of an urge without giving into it.
I look forward to seeing your next check in!!
Well done and be proud of yourself for your courage and determination to improve! One step at a time!

Day 7. Made it to a week !! I had LOTS OF THOUGHT ABOUT IT but im sticking to my goals. I’m so much than that. I’m so much more.
