nail biting
I don’t know if this can be counted as an addiction, but to me it is.
i’ve been struggling with it since I could remember, and I want to stop. It’s changed my life, and I could hardly go without doing it.
I temporarily stopped, using a nail polish that smelt and tasted bad. But I continued doing it after one day when my nails were flimsy and I couldn’t stop the temptation.
@0ceanw4ves I'm really glad you reached out about this. Nail-biting can indeed be a challenging habit to break, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling this way. It's commendable that you've taken steps to try to stop, like using that nail polish.
Breaking any habit, especially one that's been with you for a long time, takes time and patience. It's okay if you had a setback — it's all part of the process. What matters most is your willingness to keep trying.
Have you thought about other strategies or techniques that might help you? Sometimes finding alternative activities to keep your hands occupied can be helpful.
If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out. I'm here to support you 😊
I am in the same situation. I bit my nails until I started getting them done professionally. I stopped for maybe 5 or 6 years. But the *** happened and I wasn’t able to get them done all the time. I was able to not bite them for about 1-1 1/2 years after not getting them done. Now I just do it constantly unless my bf *** about it.
