I'm struggling with phone addiction and studies. I want to change myself for the better but keep falling back to old habits after a few days.No matter how much I try can't stay consistent. So I am sharing my journey here to keep myself accountable.

Day 1 starting my study now

Hey @sensitiveSailboat, I hope it is okay to comment, please feel free to skip replying, if you'd prefer. Just came across this and I couldn't "not" drop an encouragement.

I admire people who are self aware and willing to accept and work on what needs to be done, denial bores no fruit, it's only when we actually acknowledge and accept something that we can actively work on it.

I understand how challenging it must be for you to juggle between studies and phone addiction, I'd like to assure you that you're not alone, specially in this rather online world we currently share, it's pretty much most of us can relate on, the growing use of our devices and ofcourse then the addictive behaviour seems natural to it. But yay on seeing it and accepting that okay, this is not good for me and takes my time away from many things including studies (which seems to be really important for you, since you mentioned) and for that alone, for starting this habit journal for yourself to be more accountable with yourself, I'm really super proud of you and truly hope you're able to achieve any goals you're setting for yourself. Know that no matter how challenging it gets, you're walking on a great path, and every step counts, just keep walking, you really got this. ❤

@sensitiveSailboat proud of you for taking this step to stay accountable. I feel for you- when I was still studying social media wasn't so big and smart phones weren't either- so I can only imagine how difficult it is. Many people don't see it as an issue- but you are very self-aware and brave to admit this being an issue for you. That's the first step- accepting/admitting the issue. You are on the right path. Come back here and chat with a listener anytime you need support! Also- have you ever tried a pomodoro timer? I can relate to getting distracted easily while trying to get work done, and I use one (I just google pomodoro timer and use a free online version) and it helps me a lot. Just wanted to share that resource with you in case you didn't know about it. It basically has you do increments of work time with breaks worked in (so 25 minutes of work and then 5 minutes break for 4 cycles and then 15 minutes break after you do an hour of work). Congrats on taking the first step on your journey.
