so my husband a year ago decided to become addicted to cocaine, frequently going on benders with MY money that I work HARD for and subsequently lost his job, became depressed, and woohoo more cocaine!!! I have been trying for months to get him to stop but he refuses to work and only wants to get high, almost every day. he justifies it by saying its only a little bit and he wont get too high but wtf that doesnt change anything. not to mention all the times ive cooked and have had to throw away his portion cuz he was too high to eat yet insisted that I cook. they have kids that die of hunger and i have to throw out food just so this toxic drug addict can get high. Im so upset because each day that he gets high it kills me inside and pretty sure imma have to start cutting again just to not kill myself. its crazy how before the drugs life was so good, we never even argued, yet hes too blind to see that all our problems are caused by him and his drug use. we never have any money because he spends it all on drugs, and that does nothing for you or your future. like dont get me wrong when i was younger i tried a shitload of drugs but never became addicted like him and idk what to do. nobody knows because im too embarassed. we are from a small island and if i tell even one person it will get back to both our families and be very embarassing. drugs make me hate my life. drugs make me want to die.

@tallAcai6902 I am so sorry that you have this horrible situation. There are no easy answers but your relationship sounds very dangerous as your money is being spent on things that will not lead to anything good.

There is a Group Support room under CHats called relationships. You are in a difficult situation. I would try to find a way to start your own account and start putting money in there that you do not give him no matter what.

If you are in danger please be safe and seek a safe place to be and or contact police for protection. I do not know your country and what it is like but your situation living with an addict could become if it is not already physically, emotionally and mentally abusive.

There are self help guides here https://www.7cups.com/supportGuides/selfHelpGuides.php
