We've been married for almost 11 years. I don't remember a time where i felt like i had a husband beside me. I feel more like a babysitter. Constantly making sure he is out of trouble. Making sure he is okay. The worse part is im also raising a little boy in this environment... i do not know what to do anymore.

As hard as it is to do, I hope you manage to take the time for self care; it is hard to care for others if one does not care for themselves.

@cubmom30. I'm in a similar situation. My husband and I have been married almost 7 years, together for 10. If I let my guard down, something serious happens. He got a DUI in November. I can't even fathom how I live in this situation sometimes. I'm so against drunk driving and am very forward thinking myself. He is stuck in the past and handles it with drinking. It has taken a toll on me and I am emotionally and physically exhausted. I rush home from work so he can have an hour from the kids to do an AA online meeting and the next day I am trying to keep a happy vibe while daddy is drunk at the dinner table. It has really worn me down. My oldest is 6.5 now and it's not what I want him to see. Since the DUI, my husband has to have a blower in his car. At times, I have had to be late to work because he drank the night before and his car "won't start". That's not as bad as worrying he will get in it and drive drunk, but it's still a complete nightmare and stress beyond stress Since the DUI, it is really clear how bad his issue is. He is legally not supposed to drink at all, but he drinks several times in one week and stops for 6-7 days then, there he is again, drunk. I just hold my breath every time I come home from work. Now there is lying and sneaking to drink too.

I'm sure we have a lot of similarities, unfortunately, in common.
