Avoid sex with wife while quitting porn??

My wife said that she read somewhere that when quitting porn, sex should be avoided (the article said 90 days but she didn't necessarily agree with that). Just wondering peoples thoughts on this if this seems too far like I think it is, or a perfectly normal thing when breaking an addiction.
