What is considered excessive?

I look at porn and master bate 2-3 times a week. I typically spend about an 1-2 hours at a time. But a good majority of that is just looking for videos to watch. Is this excessive?

What types of things can be the root of the problem? And how can I work on it?

hmmm it depends on how many times you need to do it tho, like if you think 1 hour 2 times a week is enough but you masturbated like 6hours 5 times a week thats what we call excessive. but as someone who do these things daily for more than 4 hours, i think you're normal.

Thank you. I guess it’s all about perspective. I just told my wife I want a divorce. We haven’t been very intimate over the last few years, sometimes I’ve masterbated earlier in the day and that affected my desire or performance with her, but other times I’ve done it and been fine with her. But she tells me I have an addiction to it. So it’s hard to tell what is excessive or addictive behavior these days. I’m constantly in my head

The sexual side of my marriage had its problems even before I feel that I started increase my porn watching. I’ve never been an overly sexual person and my wife is very sexual. So at times when I haven’t been in the mood I’ve denied her. So over time she decided to shut down in a sense. And then when she looked into my search history and the amount of time I spent looking at porn she decided I was addicted. More times than not I would try and master bate on days I know we wouldn’t be intimate, her getting off late for work, etc. So i feel she has shamed me into feeling addicted. I also acknowledge her side of things, feeling that I chose porn over her.
