sexual addiction
Hello everyone. Thank you for reading this. I think I am a sexual addicted and even if I am not, I want to change myself to be a better person. I cheated my boyfriend and texting with other guys sexually, also enjoyed showing off online/public. I am shamed that now, and I think the addiction isn't only a problem. It seems like it come from other routs such as a loneliness, lack of self-esteem, addicted to porn or social media etc... I have already got appointment for therapy for the first time in my life. But it takes so long, and I don't know what to do right now. I don't even know why am I posting this here. I'm probably looking for someone to talk or someone in the similar situations and exchanging information or stories. Thank you for reading this.

Hi, thank you for having the courage to share something so vulnerable. That takes real strength. First, I want to say this clearly you are not a bad person. You are a human being trying to make sense of your pain and your behavior, and that in itself is a powerful step toward healing. So many people stay stuck in silence, in denial but you’re not doing that. You’re facing it. That matters. A lot. It’s completely okay to not have all the answers right now. What you’re feeling shame, confusion, loneliness is valid. And the fact that you're recognizing these patterns and seeking therapy is not just brave, it's the beginning of change. It sounds like you're uncovering the deeper roots like self-worth, connection, and coping mechanisms and that awareness is a big part of breaking the cycle. You’re not alone in this. Many people have struggled with similar behaviors and feelings. They’ve healed, learned self-compassion, and rebuilt trust in themselves and you absolutely can too. This doesn’t define you. Mistakes don’t erase your value or your capacity to grow into someone you're proud of. While you're waiting for therapy, maybe start small: journal your thoughts, take breaks from triggering content, and be gentle with yourself when you feel urges or shame. You're not your urges. You're someone who wants to be better, who is getting better, one step at a time. If you ever need someone to talk to or a reminder that you’re worthy of care, healing, and love you can reach out. You're doing more than you realize right now.
You’re not alone. Keep going. 🌱

Hey it's okay, I understand what you're going thru and I'm here to tell you you're not alone. I was going thru something similar and someone helped get out of it. There was someone for me back then and now I'm here for you, to help you, to be there for you, to let you understand you can talk to someone who's somehow had the same story more or less and it's okay! I've got you
I haven't done any sexual activity about 1 week. Now I really want to ***. Part of me saying just a ejaculation is fine but I think I really don't feel good about myself after do this. I don't know what to do.
@Shinyape I can relate to this, except I am married. I was exploring the SA 12 step program. Has therapy helped or have you found success with therapy?
