I have to get groceries 😅

I’ve gotten dressed and I have my grocery list, however the hardest part is stepping outside to complete this task. It’s as if I’m paralyzed. Suddenly everything is overwhelming. Can someone motivate me to GET OUT? Haha. Anyone else struggle with this?

@Jesslg333

I hope you got out and got the groceries done.

It's hard when we overthink things, sometimes, I need to just get out and tick the task off.

And it's never as bad as I thought!

Thank you so much! I managed to get the necessary groceries. Grocery shopping can be pretty overstimulating for me, so I’ll have to work on getting there when it isn’t so busy. Overall, it wasn’t too bad. Thanks for the support :)

Yes. What do you think is happening? Is it thoughts that create your stopping or is it something like pda pathological demand avoidance? Because if you can figure it out then you can counteract it.

@GabrielThinker

I managed to get it done, thankfully. I was worrying too much about the unpredictability of it all, how busy it would be and things like that. First time hearing about PDA, I’ll look into that.

That's like me and making phone calls. I know I need to call people, but I'm afraid of how they will go, even if they're to ask a simple question or schedule an appointment.

Totally relatable. I start to fiddle with the left side of my chest because I hold quite a bit of tension there, usually happens with the dreaded phone calls.

I get stressed at walmart.

My heads on a swivel in that place.

The call in order carts are always in my way, someone's memorizing the words on the cerial I need. Carts get stuck together. Dude from the cable company is stalking electronics. The cat litter is suppose to roll down the rack. Nope!!! Lol. I hate that place.

@Jesslg333You’re definitely not alone. Sometimes the hardest part is just taking that first step outside. You’ve already done the important prep by getting dressed and making your list. Think of it as a small victory just to get out the door. Once you’re outside, you’ll feel lighter and proud of yourself for pushing through. You’ve got this one step at a time. If it helps, try setting a small goal like “just walk to the car” or “just pick up one item” and build from there. You’re stronger than the overwhelm!
