AEHD
Hi everyone! Recently my mum took me to a psychiatrist and she told my mum i probably have AEHD (Attention Excess Hypoactivity Disorder) but she's not sure yet cause it's hard to diagnose. I know this is a forum for ADHD, but i even tried looking for something on internet or other social media but i couldn't find anything. I was wondering if there was someone here who was diagnosed with AEHD too cause it would make me feel a lot better to know there's other people like me or who could just give me advices or something. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post it, i'm new to this site. Thanks to whoever will reply!!
@healingduck I have never heard of this before, although I'm not a psychologist or a professional in any mental-health related area.
Searching for those, both in google and journals, I'm not coming across very much at all. Do you know if this condition is in the DSM (I don't have access to that)?
I suspect at this point in time the condition either doesn't have a formal classification yet, or else is known under another name. I understand how much having a community can help, I am going to try to find out more information. I myself found a community for one condition based on another, they are closely related and the former is so much more rare, so couldn't find a specific community for it, but found others in multiple groups of the latter. I hope you can at least get that too.
@RarelyCharlie you seem to have a broad knowledge base related to psychology, do you know more about this?

In DSM-5 (the official classification of psychiatric diagnosis in the US), the term hypoactivity does not appear at all. Although I'm not an expert, I get the impression that the DSM uses the terms lethargy and catatonia instead:
Catatonic behavior is a marked decrease in reactivity to the environment. This can range from resistance to instructions to maintaining a rigid, inappropriate or bizarre posture, to a complete lack of motor and verbal responses (mutism and stupor). It can also include purposeless and excessive motor activity with no obvious causes (catatonic excitement)…
AEHD seems to have been described first in this paper from 2017: Attention Excess Hypoactivity Disorder (AEHD) The terms lethargy and catatonia are also used in that paper. Several other conditions have similar symptoms, and if your psychiatrist is not sure yet, then I think it's very possible that your final diagnosis might be something different.
I'm pretty certain there are people here at 7 Cups who are like you in a lot of ways, even if they don't have your exact diagnosis. You might like to start a diary in the Diary Entries & Connections area where you can write about the things that happen in your life from day to day, or from week to week, and maybe other people who have similar experiences will make contact with you there.
You could also have a look around 7 Cups to see if you can relate to anyone else's people's experiences, regardless of diagnosis, and let them know you're here.

@RarelyCharlie Thanks! I tried just "hypoactivity disorder" and got a bunch of info where people didn't seem to understand the difference between hyper and hypo and were actually about ADHD. The articles about zombies at least understood the words they were using (you came across those too, right - the CDHD?)
@healingduck you would also be welcome in the disability support community. I'm biased - it's my favourite area of the site 
People there would likely best related if you discussed symptoms or things that you tend to find difficult because of what's happening. There are some of us there who also understand a diagnosis struggle.
