Adhd stuggles
Hi, I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I think it explains what I was going through before, I was like really stuck and couldn't get myself to do anything and couldn't move, like I couldn't function very good at all. I think it's cause ADHD and some other mental disorders I was diagnosed with, but I feel like some people with ADHD were able to function better than me, so I don't know. I wish I got medicated sooner tho lol

I'm only suspected as having ADHD, by a psychiatrist in July 2024 but have just started working with a therapist, there seems little doubt, a full assessment may be upto 8 years. Unfortunately for me medication isn't an issue. I've not had a problem with executive function my issues have mainly been hyperactivity and emotional dis regularation, feeling to much and oversharing causing overwhelm and rejection leaving me socially awkward. The emotional issues only really appear when I invest in a deeper level with friendships and especially apparent if I'm carrying injuries and not getting a steady stream of endorphins from exercise that helps considerably with regulation.
I can relate to this. Many people don't understand that some of us with ADHD tend to be hypo-active and not hyperactive. There are some very high-achieving ADHDers who are more hyperactive. I have wished I could do all the things like them and just have boundless energy, but I don't. I get tired very easily.
Congratulations on your diagnosis, btw! I hope you grow in your understanding of your brain and how to work with it. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago, and so many things about me make sense now.
