hey @affectionateOwl4692 ☺️

I get where you’re coming from. it's so easy for our minds to wander off into thoughts that just won’t stop. one thing that might help is trying some mindfulness techniques, like focusing on your breath or really tuning into your surroundings (like the sounds you hear or the feeling of the ground beneath your feet). or even just taking a few moments to notice what you're grateful for can pull you back into the present.

please remember that it’s normal to have those racing thoughts, so be gentle with yourself as you practice being present. you've got this! ❤️

Sometimes when I find myself in a time when I am listening to myself ..

I think IF this was a neighbor or a co-worker that I do not want advice from ........i just extricate myself from the conversation in my head and realize if I am not in the moment, I never know what I could miss.

Practicing  mindfulness  really helped my racing mind to tame down.

For instance, by taking a comfortable seating position and focus on your breathing, focus on how you your legs touch the ground focus  on the sound you hear. You can also take any spot and stare at it or any object and say what it is.

@affectionateOwl4692, Mindfulness has been something that helps me slow down when I feel overwhelmed or have too many thoughts running through my head. 🌿

Sometimes I’ll pause for a moment and focus on what’s around me. I might notice the feeling of the chair beneath me, the temperature of the room, the sounds nearby, or even a few things I can see. Another thing I like is slowly taking a breath in and out while paying attention to how my body feels with each breath.

It doesn’t make every thought disappear, but it helps me step back from them and feel a little more present in the moment. ❤️

Is it useful to find a topic maybe they you feel passionate about it? But is useful and practical.

I have ADHD too and obsession for thinking, but thank God all that time I spent listening to my thoughts, I got a good education first, to don't BS, and second I tried to think about things that add value to my life and help human kind.

Not just being annoying, by thinking in something random I really really like. I do that too, but maybe less often than what you described. That's the advice from my own experience.
