✨ADHD SUPERPOWERS ✨

Let's discuss the positives of having ADHD, because I feel like we don't concentrate on that aspect of it enough. I will go first and please feel free to add comments and examples from your own experience to the conversation. Let's see just how many positives we can come up with 😊

I love using my hyperfocus to delve deep into subjects I am interested in at the time. I feel this works to our advantage because we can become experts in a particular subject in half the time it may take someone else to. However, I just have to be careful to not let it to take up my whole day, (hello handy alarms) especially if I have other important tasks to complete, (which let's be honest there always are). Thanks to my hyperfocus, I know a little about many things, which in turn I think makes us great conversationalists.

What is your favorite ADHD superpower? 😃

@aCalmOasis

100% agree with this. i also appreciate that while i might get sidetracked from one thing i set out to do, i get another thing done that i may have been procrastinating on or even haven't thought to do yet. basically being productive regardless of what it might be, it's something! we make the most out of our ADHD!

@Heather225

Absolutely, we make it work for us and we just so happen to go about it in a different way. Productivity is productivity regardless of the order in which it gets done. I feel like I am always making a little headway on several things simultaneously. I just have to be more mindful of prioritizing properly.

My ADHD super power is my tenacity. I'm known to try and keep trying, and after trying to try harder and failing, I have learned to try differently. I get discouraged sometimes, but not for long. I think my distractibility helps in this regard. I get tired of feeling down, so I cheer myself up and move on.

I totally agree, tenacity and persistence have helped me through so many things in my life. I am grateful for this trait as well. 😊

Another positive I want to add is how passionate we are about what we care about. When I have an interest it gets researched heavily and if I feel aligned with what it is, it becomes a part of me and I am all in 100%. I love that about ADHD and truly see it as a superpower. Passionate people create excitement and motivation which is often the backbone of projects. We can be inspiring to others!

@aCalmOasis I agree with what you said about knowing about a lot of different things. I tell my partner a lot that I may not know a lot about one subject, but I know a little bit about a lot of different things.
