The chronicles of the curious yet immovable potato 🥔
ok so, I'm 20. Single (not by choice lol). I make reaaally good coffee. Like the kind that makes you question why you ever drank the sad brown water they serve at weddings. Also I can cook, but only when my lazyness takes a lunch break (which is rare).
I play the digital keyboard too. No Mozart here but I can play intro of 6 songs.
Anyway, here's the stich: I’m cursed. Not by a witch or anything (tho that would honestly be cooler) but by my own brain. It's hyperactive. Curious. Like if a cat and a detective had a baby. I want to learn EVERYTHING. Quantum physics? sure. How to make chicken biryani ? Absolutely. But do I actually do anything about it? Nah. I’m just... thinking about it. Forever. Like 'll spend 3 hours researching "how to build a spaceship from home" and then not get up to pee. I'm that lazy. Stone-level lazy. And not like cool, philosopher's stone. Like that one random rock on the side of the road that does absolutely nothing but exists.
Now let’s talk about friends. Or lack thereof.
I don’t go out and “make” friends like normal functioning humans. I acquire them accidentally. Like Pokémon you didn’t mean to catch. Most of my friends are either my roommates or the person who happened to sit next to me in class. I don't even know how to start a convo anymore. Should I say hi? Should I wait for eye contact?? What if they’re already talking to someone else telepathically and I interrupt??? Overthinking is my toxic trait. I’ll overthink a "Hii". I’ll overthink not saying Hii. I’ll overthink this paragraph for the next 3 days tbh. It’s not that I don’t want friends. I do. I want the kind of friends who’ll randomly call me to go buy ice cream at midnight or send me memes when I’m spiraling because my charger isn’t working. But initiating anything feels like trying to lift a truck with a spoon.
So ya, If anyone has tips for lazy ADHD curious couch potatoes who want friends but also can’t move... send help. Or just send coffee and a conversation starter.
ok bye
(also if you read this whole thing ily and we’re probably best friends now, I don’t make the rules)

I know this sounds counterintuitive, but you have to find "your thing". This may seem like an insurmountable task and it can be, because we can have endless interests. However if you can hone in on the things that REALLY move you, then that is where the breadcrumb trail starts in my opinion.
Off the top of my head based on your post, your good with your words and have a great sense of humour. Maybe some sort of thing involving writing or comedy is of interest? At the end of the day you are going to know yourself best. So its just a matter of becoming more aware of what really lights you up. Some things will more than others, begin this sorting process. The secret sauce of ADHD is finding "the thing" and using your hyperfocus to expand, build upon that and become successful with it.
When you love what your doing it isnt work, and you wont get stalled out and be unmotivated about it. Thats kinda how you can tell its "your thing". But there is still nuance there because we can get really interested about something and do a deep dive and then in 3 weeks we dont care anymore. So here is the sweet spot I think, if you are still motivated by whatever it is after 3 weeks time, its probably a keeper. Good luck with your introspection if you so choose. ;)
