Letters to the teens - Part 2
💌@alwaysindigo - Listener
Hey hey! I know this is a big transition, and it can be stressful at times. I've aged up recently as well, and it's a bit uncomfortable at first, but I promise that it does get better. I want you to know that even though we may be older around here, we're all still kids at heart haha {I'm sure you'll see this displayed in the chatrooms; pizza, hugs, memes, and cookies are forever present}. This side is just as supportive, loving, caring, encouraging, and fun as the teen side, and I hope you have an amazing time here. We're always here for you and we've got your back no matter what, and there are wonderful opportunities and ways to get involved with our lovely community just waiting for you. I can't wait to watch you shine and grow into an incredible adult listener, and we're all super excited to see what you achieve here! Keep being the awesome humans you are, cant wait to see you around 💛

Dear Teens,
I know that moving from teen age years, can be hard.
But we have great Adult leadership here at 7cups.
The leadership is here to help, as much as possible.
We have some great support rooms on the adult side, as well.
Our Group Support Manager is amazing.
When you come over to the adult side, please give the support rooms a try.
Our leadership teams, welcome you with open arms.
Our Community Director, is very understanding.
Our Mods on the Adult side, try there very best , to keep the rooms safe, supportive and inclusive as possible.
It is truly adult-members helping other adult-members.
We have leadership rolls for both Adult-members and Adult-Listeners as well.
We also have leadership teams, that you can join as well.
So we have lots of things you can try out.
We also have an Adult-Members, only Sharing Circle, as well.
I cannot wait to meet you all.

Hello! I started my 7 Cups journey as an adult, then got to chat with some awesome teens due to my role as an Adult-Teen Listener. The aging-up process might be difficult, but the adult listeners will welcome you with open arms. Some tips I would like to give:
1) Don't be afraid to decline chats with members of an age range or with adult topics that you don't feel comfortable providing support.
2) Age can create assumptions associated with them. I tend not to disclose mine unless asked to. Many times, age doesn't equal with maturity, or at least not in all aspects of one's life. So just because there's an age gap between you and your member doesn't mean you can't give them valuable insight and fresh perspectives.
3) It can be hard losing friends and access to Teen spaces. Consider becoming an Adult-Teen Listener (ask your Transition Mentor about applying) or keep in touch with your friends via making communication threads in the forums.
I am here for you if you need emotional support during this process. Good luck and have fun!

Hello lovely teens!
It's about that time- your 18th birthday is almost here, and you're getting ready to transition to the adult side of the site. Aging up can seem intimidating, I know! When I turned 18, I had been on self care for a little while, so I returned to the site technically being considered an adult even though I had just barely graduated from high school. It took me quite a while to settle in to the adult side, and to be completely honest, I still don't feel comfortable supporting some more adult themed issues simply due to a lack of life experience. After being on the adult side for a couple of years now, my biggest takeaway is this- you do not magically become an adult at the stroke of midnight on your 18th birthday. You do not suddenly know how to file taxes or apply for a mortgage just because you've reached a certain age. I am almost 22 years old and still find myself relating to teens a lot of the time. It is not expected of you to automatically know how to support adults as soon as you age up, so if you don't feel ready to support adults just yet, that's okay! Take some time to figure out how to support yourself as an adult, and whenever you feel comfortable, pass on what you've learned to others- we can all find ways to benefit from hearing your experiences.
All my love,
Rach (:

Hello teens, Your are so strong and now you will be 18. I am excited for you. I hope you are too. When I was 18, I was naive, energetic, innocent and adventurous. You have your own qualities I am sure. I made mistakes but after years these mistakes made me the person I am. I did not even realise when I turned into an adult because the transition is very smooth. As an adult you might be expected a lot of things to do. Some you will have to do and some you will not like to do and some you will not do at all. Mistakes will happen but be easy on yourself. You will be more than your age, your school grades, college certificates, your job, your looks, your financial status, relationship status etc. So doing things which you love, dreaming about, cherishing little joys of life and keep moving forward or just relax because life will become bigger but you will become better and stronger even if you do not realise it. Congrats!
