Letters to the teens - Part 4

Hi, welcome to the "oldie" side (the fun side)! Change is always scary, but it can also be fun. You get to meet so many people who have gone through the aging up transition (on Cups and in real life) who will always be willing to guide you through this experience and countless others to come. So many fun people, potential friends, and amazing moments await you over this side of Cups. Maybe it's hard to see now, but you'll absolutely love it. Don't be afraid to reach out if it seems overwhelming. Good luck!

Hello everyone!

Honestly growing up can be very challenging. You may experience difficult life situation, such as living in a difficult household or experiencing stress at school or other areas. Growing up can be scary. But you shouldn't worry too much and I will share some tips that have helped me through my teen years and I hope it'll be useful to you :)

- Be kind to yourself and find hobbies that make you happy and puts you in a good mind space (knitting, gardening, hiking, biking, pottery, you name it!)

- If for some reason you can't talk about your worries to your parents, try finding a person, such as a teacher or a councilor, with who you feel safe with in sharing your worries and struggles - this has saved me at times when I was struggling and dealing with my own mental issues and my teachers were extremely supportive and I had a school nurse with who I've spend hours in talking when I was experiencing panic attacks or felt depressed.

- Surround yourself with good people who care about you and want you to grow. People who won't sabotage your growth but will inspire you to do and be more.

- Get inspired! Find hobbies or things that make you happy, read books, listen to music, go for walks or get interested in various areas that could shape your future you. I have volunteered for years and I personally enjoy it because it gives me fulfilment and I got to travel a lot because of it (if you have means or projects where you can participate in your area). There can be various areas where you can find yourself, so keep exploring!

- Hang out with your friends as much as you can (without avoiding your duties such as school work ofc). If you struggle to find friends you can try finding them through organizations or various hobbies or perhaps even a discord server, with who you connect. When you grow up you don't have that much time to make friends anymore, so this is the time to do so and experience awesome moments together :)

And the most important part, don't worry about the future. Life is funny that way that it always puts you in a place where you thrive if you look for it. As long as you're trying your best and are kind to yourself everything will work itself out :)

Hi there,

Aging from being teens to adults can be burdensome especially when you're unaware of how it is like to be an adult. For many of us, teenage is a period where we are away from responsibility and leading a carefree life but as soon as adulthood occurs, we're expected to be more mature, understanding, and responsible towards our duties - be it studies, work, or dealing with people around us. Honestly, this was one of the most difficult things for me whilst I was transitioning to the adult side but I was lucky that my parents were supportive throughout. As you are adulting, there comes a time when people expect you to graduate at a certain age and start working (In case, you don't have a job). After getting a job, they expect you to get a promotion at a certain age and then get married and have a family and the list goes on which might feel like you're being pressurized. In my humble opinion, never let people define your life for you — define it yourself. People love dictating to others how their life should be and make them feel bad about it if their expectations are not met. Have your timeline planned as you need it because we all grow differently. It is okay if you have not graduated at XYZ age, it is okay if you haven't got your life partner at a certain age, it is okay if you need more time to become independent and start your family, it is okay if you want to lead your life in your terms but never let the society control you. Be more self-loving, avoid being harsh on yourself. Be extra gentle as this would help you to fight for yourself. You will have that degree, you will have that job, you will excel in life, you will have a life partner, you will have children, you will be successful at everything that your heart desires. Just trust your timings. Be comfortable with yourself and don't rush the process. Embrace this new journey with a beautiful smile and good vibes. Wishing you the best and happy adulting!

Love,
-Angel

Hello you reading it❤,
I'm so glad you're reading this. I'm supposed to write a letter to teens and its giving me a lot of inspiration writing this because I'm recalling everything I did as a teenager and all the dreams and hopes I had. I'm sure one day you will feel the exact same way I am feeling right now.
Dear friend, in life, everyone is going in a different path. Towards many goals and things they seek. And it all begins as a teenager, when you start knowing what you're passionate about and where you want to go. A wonderful adult is taking birth in you. So, that's what I want to tell you first. Your teen years are crucial for knowing what you want to be and what you dont want to be. Search for that adult now. Be super careful about your studies and everything that will make your life fulfilling later.
It's not all about studying, yes, that's the second thing I want to tell you. Friends. Most importantly, relationships. The relationships you have in your teens years are going to have a huge influence on you now and your later years. Make meaningful choices with people and if anything or anyone spoils your peace, just cut it off. Also remember that you don't have to be in any "romantic relationship " so soon, dont fall for peer pressure, just wait.
Now the third. About you. Your body and your brain. Exercise both of them. Work out and read. Do whatever makes you happy and sharp. Be a little selfish about yourself
To conclude, my friend, I'll just say you're beautiful in every every way and even if you don't accept it now, you ARE. Making mistakes won't ever make you a bad person. Make mistakes and learn from them, that's very important. And you will always find hope and help whenever you need it. You are absolutely deserving of everything.
Be forgiving of you and others, its gonna help you a lot.
And just do whatever that would make your adult version happy. It's okay to be confused now, but take time to think about things and have opinions. Be flexible and rigid. Be kind and and strong.
Like I said, my friend, we always go in different directions, but what we should remember is that we need to travel with compassion and kindness all the way. So you too, make them a part of your lives.
And I'm sure you will be awesomer because you're already awesome. 😁
Thanks so much, my friend for reading this letter. I'm currently typing it with tears in my eyes because all the things I told you, I wish someone told me. So from the bottom of my heart, I love you and wish you all the best.
I may not know you but I shall think of you and I'm so proud of you.
Lots of love and hugs..❤🤗
Your distant friend,
Shizu.
