Hey guys i'm Basil or Penguin (whichever one you prefer)

I have a severe case of anxiety / overthinking and was wondering if anyone who was in the same boat as me could give me some tips and show me the way on how I could reduce this anxiety and slowly cope with it easier as right now i'm only able to get it out as anger and I feel like thats not very healthy in the long run. Any help at all would be appreciated

@Basilboy143 Hey Basil! First off, it's really brave of you to open up about your struggles with anxiety and overthinking. It's not an easy thing to share, and I appreciate your honesty.

I'm sorry to hear that it's manifesting as anger right now, but recognizing that it might not be the healthiest outlet is a significant step towards positive change. Managing anxiety is a journey, and it's different for everyone, but I'm here to listen and offer support.

One approach that might help is mindfulness. It involves being present in the moment without judgment. Techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or simply taking a moment to focus on your senses can help ground you when anxiety starts to build up.

Another strategy is to challenge negative thoughts. When you catch yourself overthinking or spiraling into anxious thoughts, try to pause and ask yourself if those thoughts are based on facts. Sometimes our minds create scenarios that aren't grounded in reality, and questioning them can be a powerful tool.

It could also be beneficial to explore activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Whether it's a hobby, exercise, or spending time in nature, finding something that helps you unwind can be a great way to cope with anxiety.

Remember, progress may be gradual, and it's okay to seek professional help if needed. Psychologists can provide valuable tools and strategies tailored to your specific situation.

Most importantly, be patient and kind to yourself during this process. It takes time to build new habits and coping mechanisms. You're not alone in this, and reaching out for support is a strong step forward.

Feel free to share more about what helps you or what you've tried, and we can continue this conversation. Take care 💜
