Think my anxiety has been triggered

I was dealing with frustration at book characters for no apparent reason aside from the fact that they behave in ways I find touch my boundary.

After that I happened to be on one of my site where we chat about books and saw a reply to my comment about a book character cheating during the engagement period. I had wrote that cheating is still cheating as long as the engagement/marriage is recognized which the engagement is. The person wrote back that male lead cheating wasn't so because he was forced into the engagement at the age of 6 and he was manipulated into cheating by the female lead/fiancée. To which I disagree, the engagement was recognized even if it began when he was at the age of 6; and even if he was manipulated into cheating, ultimately the choice was his. He still has to take some responsibility. Then the person began to nitpick flaw with the female lead which also came with flaws as well.

Somehow, this disagreement has triggered my anxiety. Maybe I wanted to be right. Maybe I feel I am not competent enough to speak of this. Whatever it be, right now I am feeling very anxious like I am in a very big pit full of trouble.

@Mdreaming101 Hi Mdreaming!

It sounds like you had a disagreement with someone online about a book character and it triggered your anxiety. I can understand how that could happen, especially when we feel passionate about something and then someone challenges our perspective. It's okay to have differing opinions, and it's important to remember that we don't always have to agree with each other.

Regardless of the root cause of your anxiety, know that it's okay to feel this way and that you are not alone. Do you have any strategies that help you when you feel anxious?
