Who am I?
My name is Tristan, and I struggle with both anxiety and depression everyday. I don't recognize who I am as a person anymore and can't really bring it to my friends anymore. It keeps me up all night every night. I'm not quite sure what to do.

Welcome 🤗 💚
You are not alone here.
It's brave to reach out and admit that you are not ok.
You can reach out to a listener or vent here but you don't have to suffer in silence 💙

Some go through spiritual awakening. I did it’s ***. If you are frequently sleeping less than 7 hours you need help from doctor. Depression allows us to see reality but to depressed to quickly and we can’t function.
Find a spiritual teacher in a tradition you are drawn to and get help from doctors to make it bearable.
I feel the same, I'm going thru divorce and experiencing anxiety and depression. sometimes I feel I can't tell if I'm living in reality or just a dream. definitely see a psychiatrist, I think medications will help you feel better and think more clearly. and make new friends, find local suppport groups
Hi Tristan, I am so sorry about your struggle with anxiety and depression. It can be very isolating and draining to go through. I can imagine it's been hard to get rest with how you feel. It can feel like a journey to finding yourself again, and I just want to let you know that it is possible. You are not alone, and I am glad you've reached out on 7 cups. I hope you will feel seen and supported here. ♥️
Hi Tristan, can I help you today?

I'm glad you're here :) Experiencing anxiety and depression can for sure be overwhelming for someone to go through on their own. It takes a lot of strength to acknowledge you may need some support right now, but you deserve it. I wish you the best and find the support and connection you're looking for :)
Hi
Yes the way it look is really an issue. I know it’s difficult to recognize yourself, better go in your bathroom, splash some cold water on your face and back of the neck and lower head for a while, then use towel to dry it. Then standup and start talking to yourself in mirror. Say everything to yourself and ask for guidence and solution to yourself. With few moments you may start thinking to recognize yourself and find out possible solution options. No on one Guarantee but atleast your mindset may change and you start recognizing and loving yourself. Infact we don’t live ourselves and searching for others to live. Try it. Best of kuck

That sounds like a lot to be carrying on your own, but you are doing great by doing it on your own. Carrying it all on your own and feeling like you don't recognize who you are anymore however though, that must be overwhelming.
It also sounds painful to feel like you can't bring this to your friends. Sometimes when we've been struggling for a while, it can feel like we are becoming a burden, but your feelings and what you are going through are worth being heard.
There is no judgement here, and whatever you are comfortable sharing is worth being shared.
