Anxiety holds me back

February 13th, 2023

I am a college student who's really struggling with socializing. It's been over a year but I still can't hold a simple conversation with someone who's not my friend. It sometimes makes me hate who I am . I spiral down into my thoughts and sink deeper into resentment. I just don't know what to do. Moreover, I try to talk to people but seems like they don't even want to acknowledge me .I feel so left out all the time that I'm thinking of dropping out. What should I do?

@sunnyCranberry6945 hi sorry to hear about this. I struggle too socially with people. I was in or am in similar place. I didn’t get on with college but this was when I wasn’t well. I know sometimes it can take time to build friendships to know people and become friends. It’s taken a lot of time for me and still don’t have many or hang out with. Is there something what can help you to feel better maybe develop your confidence? Not saying it’s that but an activity like running can really help you feel better about yourself or going to a class can help with social skills. There anything like that you know of or is there someone to help you with that? I know it’s impossible but it can’t always be. Please don’t give up. If everything else going fine work on what isn’t. That’s a goal for you

Maybe look into a college counsellor or another

I have been thinking of discussing it with a counsellor for a long time now but somehow I never end up doing it.
