I’m not sure about the cause. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. It sounds like it can be scary. Have you ever tried listening to white/brown noise? I also feel that lo-fi music can be very gentle and relaxing. <3 💜

Sorry to hear you're struggling with this, hope you're doing well <3
A possible cause could be noise sensitivity, which can make loud music and noises cause a sensory or auditory overload.

As someone currently going through a similar issue, I can give a few tips on how to not necessarily cure the issue, but certainly help tone it down a little.
- 1Do not overprotect yourself. If you try to completely block out the noise, it'll only make it worse when you hear it again.
- Where ever you can, control your noise. If you're listening to music yourself and you know what music causes this panic, either avoid or proceed with caution; lowered volume or have a fallback playlist that can be more comfortable to listen to.
- If the noise is out of your control (a festival, that outside construction, etc), invest in some good noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs. I would recommend Loop Earplugs; they specialize in earplugs for people with noise sensitivity for many different reasons, and the earplugs themselves are discreet and can keep voices clear for conversation while filtering out loud background noise.
- If all else fails, don't be afraid to see a professional. There are plenty of possible answers to the causes of your issues with noise. They can always point you in a direction that could help, including sound therapy exercises, such as cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Minimize your stress. When you're stressed, or anxious, you are most likely going to be more sensitive to things around you. It's always good to practice mindfulness and relaxation, and if there feels like you can't do anything, the best thing you can do is breathe.

I hope you can find some resolve in what I've provided, and I wish all the best for you and your future listening activities <3

“The cure for the pain is in the pain.”― Rumi

Often people try to suppress, ignore, or distract themselves from noisy disturbing feelings. Like a 'low fuel' light that buzzes, it is better to find out what the feelings are pointing us to, than to try to cover up the warning light. Anxiety triggers are like both warnings and invitations. Warnings of an inner wound that needs to heal, and an invitation to completely be with that feeling in order to heal.
